Here’s the cover of my December Daily junk journal for 2024.
A page spread from my December Daily junk journal. This one has a pocket and a coordinating tag. I love the owls!
Another page spread featuring some coffee-dyed paper and a digital download. I gave myself plenty of room for journaling this year.
Another page spread with some vintage sheet music and a digital download page for journaling.
This digital download is from My Porch Prints. I have been a loyal customer of theirs for YEARS. Love the fact that their printables are in PDF format. I much prefer that over the JPGs that many creators use. I turned this one into a big side pocket and tucked in two tags. The back of the tags can be for journaling too. The opposite page is coffee-dyed paper — perfect for journaling — or adding a photo.
I sewed around the edge of this giant tag and then glued it on the page. Yes, you can use tags in more than one way! This one is from Joey Cardmaker. I used his “Christmas Folk” kit for much of this journal.
Another page using a journal topper. I turned this one into a pocket and added a tag from my holiday stash. The opposite (red) page can be decorated later.
This is the “red” page. I may leave it alone. Or…I might add a photo or a pocket or something else. Whatever suits my fancy at the time. It’s all about options. This is a page from the “Christmas Folk” kit.
I can’t remember where this piece of ephemera came from. I glued it onto a blank page and then added the plaid ribbon to the left of it. There was just too much white space for me — so the ribbon was a perfect addtion.
The left-hand page is a coffee-dyed paper. There’s a flat paper sack that has been adorned with a simple pocket filled with three tags from the Joey Cardmaker kit. I punched holes in the tops of the tags, added a grommet, and finished each with some embroidery floss.
Another pocket/journaling card combination from the “Christmas Folk” kit. Remember: you don’t have to go crazy with decorating your journals. Sometimes simple is good. The opposite page is a blank journaling page from the kit.
We’re almost to the end of the journal! Here’s a giant tag glued to a blank page. And a simple pocket and two tags on the opposite side of the spread.
The inside back cover of the journal has a pocket at the bottom embellished with a Santa cutout I found at Hobby Lobby. The journal closure is a simple grommet and jute twine closure.
Here’s a link so you can see the details of many of the items in the “Christmas Folk” kit.
